Jee whizz! We in Ocean Flaws just released our brand new single ‘Keep It Cool’!
Oh jeez, don't you just get super-duper bummed out when you realise that beautiful person in your life is just way too put-together, emotionally intelligent, sophisticated and cool to ever entertain the idea of being your romantic partner?? Golly gosh! What a spin!
We tackle that toughie in the lyrics of our new single, which takes glistening synth riffs, shimmering guitar stabs and fluctuating bass lines, and puts them in a funky blender to make one super fruity musical milkshake! Yum!
We’ve already had some flattering reviews to make our ears burn! Ouch! You can read them here:

Keep It Cool Lyrics
VERSE
I’m on a winning streak, staying up, got it down, hit my peak
But I think it's cruel, how you keep it so damn cool
Now I'm keeping tabs checking in feeling out wondering
Why it is a rule that you always look so cool
CHORUS
Happiness sands like any plans
Running through my hands
Thats how its gotta be, take it from me
Its always how it lands
VERSE
So I'm picking up what we said, flicking through the messages
“See you by the pool!”
The way you talk is just so cool
I was sitting back thinking about the reason why now and then
I'm treated like a fool, and you're effortlessly cool
CHORUS
Happiness sands like any plans
Running through my hands
Thats how its gotta be, take it from me
Its always how it lands
Biography
Ocean Flaws are one of the most exciting bands emerging from the UK indie scene today. Imagine The Cars grew up amidst the humdrum of post-millennial Essex.
On the back of their debut single, Deep Sea Dreaming - released in 2020 - the Essex-based quartet were named one of John Kennedy’s “Hot Ones” to watch out for, on Radio X’s prestigious Xposure show.
Following a string of sold-out shows on London’s live circuit, including a support slot with Oasis’ own Andy Bell, Ocean Flaws built on the momentum with their sophomore single - Spirit Level - released at the end 2020. The track garnered airplay from Radio X, BBC Introducing, and even secured a spot on SiriusXM host, Eric Alper’s, official “Best Indie Music” Spotify playlist.
The band’s third single, Touching Down - released in the wake of COVID-19 - showcased a more introspective side to the group, with their guitarist stepping up to the mic for the first time ever. Once again, the track landed, and was spun on BBC Radio 6 by the legendary Steve Lamacq, and named This Feeling’s “Track Of The Day”.
In 2021, Ocean Flaws released their single, ‘Hologram’, through Sugar House Collective and Absolute Label Services. The song peaked at number two in the alternative iTunes charts, and was spun by Radio X and BBC Introducing.
2022 has seen Ocean Flaws release their fifth single, 'Karmageddon', which was spun on Steve Lamacq's drive time show. Ocean Flaws are now preparing for a duo of headline shows in June - BBC Introducing’s tour of Essex and their own show at Shacklewell Arms.
